Bermudian soccer player emerges as NJCAA MVP

Deshae Darrell, Brookhaven College’s second Bermudian soccer player, was named the Most Valuable Player after the Brookhaven women’s soccer team victory in the National Junior College Athletics Association Division III Women’s Soccer Championship. During the tournament, Darrell scored five goals and had one assist. She scored in every match of the tournament, including the Bears’ first goal in the finals. Women’s soccer crowned national champions

For the first time in Brookhaven College history, the women’s soccer team was crowned national champions at the 2017 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Women’s Soccer Championship. Bears Slash Thunderducks

The Brookhaven College women’s soccer team won the National Junior College Athletics Association Division III District F Tournament for the second year in a row. The Bears defeated the Richland College Thunderducks 2-0, Oct. 28 to move on to play in the NJCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship. The Brookhaven College basketball team defeated a squad of former Bears players in the ninth annual Don Cockrell Alumni Basketball Game, 93-89. BHC soccer hosts fundraiser

Brookhaven hosts charity match for Sept. 11 first responders and Hurricane Harvey relief.

The Brookhaven College Bears soccer team hosted the Dallas Roma F.C. women’s team at home for the second annual First Responders Match. On the 16th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, the exhibition game commemorated fallen police officers and firefighters who answered the call for help. The Brookhaven College Bears volleyball team went down fighting at home against the Panola College Fillies, 0-3, Sept. 16. With Panola ranked third in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I, according to the NJCAA website, the Bears were the game’s underdogs.
