Students to attend job tour

Brookhaven College will host its 2nd annual Business Job Tour at 1-4 p.m. Nov 15. at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Dallas near the Galleria.

“It is a great opportunity for students to tour the hotel, engage with a panel of leaders, shadow the different departments and learn about job opportunities,” career planning specialist Trisha Glasgow said.

Space at the event is limited, so students need to register in advance, either in person in room S065 or through the Bear Network, Brookhaven’s online jobs posting system.

“They hosted us last year and gave us a tour of the hotel and basically a kind of behind the scenes trip or access to the hotel operation at DoubleTree,” program services coordinator Adam Clawson said. “We call it a business tour for the business pathway but it’s really for anyone.”

The tour of the facility will introduce students to multiple job opportunities including cooking, room service and housekeeping.

For students who have not decided on a major or career, Clawson said there is no better way to decide on an occupation than going on job tours like the one at DoubleTree.
