Indivisible, the organization who started “No Kings” has announced the return of the peaceful protests on Oct. 18. They are hoping for an even bigger turnout than the
nation wide rallies on June 14, 2025.

According to The Guardian, though the official numbers are difficult to verify, anywhere between 4 and 6 million Americans participated in the protests, ranking it as one of the biggest demonstrations in U.S History. The Dallas Police Department estimated 10,000 people participated in the downtown event.

Why are millions of Americans gathering in protest? Recent actions taken by Trump, including an attempt to send the FBI after various Texas House Democrats, who had fled the state in an attempt to stall an early redistricting. The ongoing ICE involvement leading to a record-breaking amount of illegal immigrant apprehension and deportation is fueling dissent.

A controversy over a DOJ official claiming that Republicans would be redacted from the Epstein client list has angered even conservative voters. Additionally, the deployment of the National Guard into multiple U.S. cities has added to the growing list of grievances Americans have with the president.

Originally, Indivisible began as a guide to assist people in organizing locally to “pressure [their] elected officials to resist Trump’s agenda,” according to their website. As people picked up the guide and organized, the movement expanded into three main organizations: Indivisible Project, Civics, and Action composed of thousands of autonomous groups formed across the nation.

Already, there are more than 100 planned events in support of the “No Kings” movement for Oct. 18.
