Long time Bears den fans know that this semester is off to a great start. At the President’s Leadership Team Meeting on Oct. 1, Athletics Director, Shane Shewmake shared some exciting news with campus leadership, and was introduced by Dallas College Brookhaven President, Dr. Madeline Burillo-Hopkins, so she could “brag” about the athletics program thus far.
The season so far
Below are the highlights from Coach Shew’s speech to the campus leadership about the state of Brookhaven sports:
- Women’s Soccer is currently ranked No. 1 in our conference.
- Women’s Soccer is currently ranked No. 2 in the nation.
- Women’s Volleyball is currently in No. 2 place in our conference.
- Women’s Volleyball is currently rank No. 11 in the nation and just beat the No. 7 ranked team.
Upcoming events
- The Volleyball Dig Pink Game is Oct. 13.
- The first Men’s Basketball game for the semester is on Nov. 1 and the first home game on Nov. 5
- Men’s Baseball starts in January.
- The Volleyball Dig Pink Game is on Oct. 13 at 6:00 p.m.
- Volleyball will be hosting a DISD Skills Clinic.
- Wreaths Across America is coming Dec. 13.
