“Student Fall Exhibition 2025” is displayed at every Dallas College campus. Each respective gallery is going to be juried to select a best in show during the reception. Brookhaven will be hosting a reception for their “Student Fall Exhibition 2025” on Nov. 19. The show consists of pieces created by students during Fall Semester classes. The gallery was officially opened to the public on Oct. 27 and is set to close Nov. 26.

Students were allowed two pieces into the gallery, each piece having to have been made in a class during the Fall Semester. When submitting, the students were asked what class the piece was made in, as to put it in a category for jurors, and to price their piece or mark it as unavailable for purchase.

Featured in the galleries are sections dedicated to each visual art course offered: photography, printmaking, drawing, 2-D design, 3-D design, painting, ceramics, art metals/jewelry and more. A winner from each section will be chosen in addition to the best in show during the reception. All pieces exhibited, depending on the artist’s preference, will be available to the college to purchase and display on campus.

The reception will offer complimentary food for attendees to munch on while admiring the hard work of our campus’ visual art students, many of which will be present to talk to.

Last fall, Kenya Diaz won best in show at Brookhaven for her piece “Dami,” which is pictured on the flyers promoting the gallery. Previous winners also incude “Red Roses in a Red Vase” by Carla Morlock at Cedar Valley, “Ghost Whisperer” by Shakiba Norozi at Eastfield, “Just a Part of Me” by Angel Herrera at El Centro, “Temptation” by Jung Lanty at Mountain View, “The Highland” by Amanda DeCesaro at North Lake and “Children of Genocide” by Adam Koestline at Richland.

“It’s a great show that showcases the breath and caliber of work that our students do,” Arthur Fields, the photography and 2-D design professor at Brookhaven, said when asked about the gallery.

For many students this will be their introduction into the world of art galleries and juried shows, making the “Student Fall Exhibition 2025” an important learning experience for aspiring artists of our campus.
